URGENCY WINS CUP.

CHRISTCHURCH, 28th April. The Amberley Racing Clab's annual fixture was held to-day on the Riccarton course. The weather affected the attendance. The course was heavy. The totalisator handled £20,398, against £7465 last year, when the meeting was held at Amberley. Results:—

Amberley Cup, of 200 soys; one mile and a quarter.—Urgency, 7.4 (D. Hall), 1; 'Frisco Mail, 6.7, 2; Some Kid, 8.12, 3. Also started: Gamecock 7.13, Clean Sweep 7.11, Cerberus 7.3. Won by seven lengths. Time,' 2min 10 3-ssec.

Hack Handicap, of 100 soys; seven furlongs.—Moorland, 9.0, 1; Oaterman, 8.2, S2; Contempt, 8.13, 3. Also started: Gossard 8.10, Agnola 7.9, Carette 7.5. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 31 l-ssec. '

Open Welter, of 120 soys; one mile.— Samum, 8.-5, I;"Fabrinada, 8.3, 2; Barmaid, 7.7, 3. Also started: Mythology 9.13, Prosperity 9.5, Grim Joke 8.13, Falstaff 8.13, Ardour 8.13, Brackenfield 7.11, Lord Nagar 7.9, Harlequin 7.7, Missouri 7.7, Alleyne 7.7. Won by a length. Time, lmin 44 2-58ec.
