The secret marriage of Miss Mathilde M'Cormick, granddaughter of Mr. J. D, Rockefeller, is announced. It is the culmination of an international romance of the daughter of a wealthy father and mother. The marriage took place at a registry office in the middle-class district ■of London, where Mathilde has been living for three months. The bridegroom is Max Oser, a major in the Swiss army and proprietor of a riding school, whom Mathilde met when taking riding lessons during a holiday in Zurich when aged eight years. Mathilde is now eighteen, tall and attractive. She handed the.registrar the written consent of her father, who is a millionaire and head of the International Harvester Company. There were no bridesmaids, and the witness-was a solicitor's clerk. The couple left for an unknown address in Scotland. The romance has been known for several years. Her ■ parents first withheld and then gave their consent.
