APPLES OVERHEATED.

The High Commissioner advises the Department of Agriculture, London, 14th April,.as foliows:~

" Fruit ex Remuera all landed during this week. The condition was very poor, apples being overheated, and some pit now developing in Cox's Orange. The quality, packing, and get up generally were excellent, and had shipment arrived in good condition top prices would* have been realised, although there are large quantities of Australian and Tasmanian, and also a few American apples, in the market. Australian generally immature and good proportion fitted. Average prices are 8s to 12s *fer case! New Zealand apple 6 , realised )>er case: Cox's Orange, 8s to 12s; Cox's Orange (best condition), 18s to 245; Dunn's Favourite, somewhat immature, 5b to 12b; Jonathan (best), 14s to 16s; Worcester, Pearmain, and Ribston Pippin, 5s to 8s; Ribston Pippin (best), 12s to 14s; King David, 9s to 10s."
