SCOTTISH SOCIETY'S SOCIAL.
On Saturday" evening the Scottish" Society and the Pipe Band held a large-ly-attended social and dance in the Tpwr* ■Hall Concert Chamber. The floor was in perfect dancing order, and the music excellent. The proceedings opened with a march, strathspey, and reel by the Pipe Band under'Pipe-Major Patterson, following which Chief M'Arthur ../gave ..a, short address, and the pipers played the first waltz., , Musical, items were contributed by v Misses and Wilkinson, Mrs. Scott-Allan, and Mr. H. Jupp, with Mrs. MacMillan as accompanist. Miss. Edna Tear danced a sailoi''s hornpipe. During the supper interval Pip r ers Lake and Small played a pipe duet, "The Gipsy's Warning," and the society's troupe of juvenile.Highland dancers also gave an item. The opportunity 'was''taken■ to present Mr. Charles Lowe (ex-Gordon Highlanders) with an enlarged framed photograph of the contest band, 1922/ for which, Mr. Lowe acted as drum-major.
