STRAND THEATRE.

Two elements, each of them with considerable force, contribute to the fundamentals of "White Shoulders," starring Katherine Macdonald, now showing! at the Strand Theatre. The first deals' with the right, or even the duty, of a mother to land a rich husband for her daughter so that the daughter may escape the horrors of poverty which has well nigh overwhelmed the mother. The second element deals with the evils of the C3'edit system. These two themes result in a photoplay plot far above the ordinary, and one which gives room for thought as well as entertainment. The supporting cast includes Nigel Barrie and little Richard Headrick. The second picture is "One of the Blood," in which Douglas Fairbanks plays the leading character. The remaining pictures are good and of varied character.
