CHBIBTCHTJRCH, This Day. Following on an epidemic of buy burglaries in the city, a boy of 15, convicted of thefts of a watch and a jazor from the Opera House, the property of Dnlcie ?torey, was ordered to receive a sound thrashing and be returned to the industrial school. Of four boys convicted of various burglaries and motor-car thefts, the eldest, aged-16, was ordered a sound thrashing^ and was remanded for sentence; two others were ordered to make restitution, and the fourth, aged 13, was ordered a sound thrashing. Addressing the mother of two of the boys, the Magistrate said steps would be taken to prevent her children becoming criminals.
