THE MARAROA
DELAYED BY ENGINE TROUBLE
VESSEL 'ARRIVES THIS AFTER.
NOON,
The Union Company's steamer Mararoa, which is in the ferry run while the Maori is withdrawn for survey at Port Chalmers, left Lyttelton at 8.15 o'clock last evening for .Wellington, and was expected here about 9.30 a.m. to-day, but was delayed by engine trouble. A wireless message received this morning stated that the Mararoa had developed engine trouble through a heated bearing, and would not arrive till this afternoon. The steamer was sighted from the Heads at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon, and was then expected to berth at the Ferry Wharf about 3.45 p.m. An endeavour is being, made by the Union Company to dispatch the steamer at her usual hour tills evening, 7.45 o'clock, for Lyttelton.
