TO TUNNEL MONT BLANC
FRANCE TO ITALY PIRECT. (UN.ITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPTRKtT.) (AUSTRALIAN . NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION,) (Received 13th April, 10 a.m.) GENEVA. 12.th April. The scheme for tunnelling Mont Blanc has been decided, thus uniting Prance and Italy directly. It involves, the building of fifteen tunnels and fourteen bridges. The longest tunnel is I4kj]p: metrea (8f mjles) long. The route leaves the Chamoni* Valley and descends towards Aosta, which will be an international station. It is expected, that the work will occupy five years.
