Johnston was in the chair, and tw«nty-two delegates were present. It wa* decided to hold the annual scholars' Scripture examination on 7th July, the ladies and gentlemen who conducted last year's examination to be asked to again act. It was reported that combined Easter Convention of Teachers had been very successful, although th« number of visiting delegates had been less than when the union alone had conducted the gathering. A committee was set up to arrange for teacher-training classes during the winter. A lady who had served for 28 yeais as a teacher was granted the National Union's Longservice Diploma. It was decided to convene a special meeting of superintendents and delegates for the 19th inst. to consider the best method of observing 1923 as Children's Year. j SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club will complete its championship and series matches on Saturday next on the Seddon ranges at 800 and 900 yards, 10 shots at each.
