QUEEN'S THEATRE.

The opening scene of "At the Sign of the Jack o' Lantern," which commences at the Queen's Theatre, to-day, depicts a realistic rainstorm in which two of the principal characters find themselves caught. Probably thousands of film followers have speculated as to how a director has rain on tap for scenes where storms of this kind are required. Such a scene requires considerable prejiaration. First an ample supply of water must be assured for the storm. In this* film five lines of hose were hooked up to a regulation city fire hydrant. Then big wind machines were put the proper points so that the water nrght be given velocity when necessary, and whipped about as rain is in a regular storm of the variety which Nature provides. It is a mystery comedy-drama replete with sensational thrills and laughable situations. The second feature is the Metro production "Lombardi, Ltd.," a highly diverting comedy-drama starring Bert Lytell and Alice Lake. The supporting items en the programme include the latest Topical Budget and Selznick News, together with a delightful musical programme by the Queen's Orchestra. The box plan is at the theatre.
