RECORD ENTRIES FOR SEASON
Record entries to the number of 132 have been received by the Wellington Rugby Union for the 1923 football competitions. It is anticipated that the number will reach 140 before the season closes. There will be eleven senior teams, one more than last year; fourteen juniors, nineteen thirds, twenty-one intermediates, twenty fourth class, eighteen fifth class, fifteen sixth class, and fourteen seventh class. Petone, Berhampore, Poneke, and Wellington College have entered nine teams each; and Selwyn and Athletic eight teams each. The number of teams in the various competitions last year was 120.
