TO DEMAND FOR INQUIRY PARLIAMENTARY PEACE AGAIN. (UNHID PRIBS ASSOCIATION.—COPTMSHT.) (AUSTRALIAN - MBW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) ' (Received 13th April, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 12th April. In the House of Commons, on the motion to go into Committee of Supply, Mr. J. D. Millar (L.) moved for the appointment of a Select Committee to inquire . into the salaries of ex-temporary clerks entering the Civil Service. He said that Tuesday's events ought to convince the Government of its obligation in the matter. Mr. G. Jar.rett (L.), in seconding the motion, protested against an attempt to make party capital out of the question. This elicited angry exclamations from the Labour benches. Mr. Stanley Baldwin said that he was satisfied that there was a general desire for an immediate inquiry. Mr. Ramsay Macdona'jd expressed the Labour Party's satisfaction at Mr. Baldwin's announcement. , Mr. Millar then withdrew his motion on the Government's assurance to refer the question to the existing Committee on Salaries..
