GIRL CHARGED WITH ARSON
(IT TILEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, 11th April. In the Police Court to-day Reta Margaret Smith (ak;ed 19) was charged with arson. Accused was employed by an invalid woman, and according to "the evidence left a lighted candle on the middle of a hearthrug. The fire which took* place was extinguished, and the invalid woman and her children were rescued with some difficulty. Accused and her mistress were on good terms. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
