INCENDIARISM CHARGE FAILS

AUCKLAND, sth April. William Frederick Braithwaite, who had. pleaded not guilty to a charge of incendiarism in. connection with the fn-e at Avondale School, was acquitted. The Magistrate who heard the case said that statements made by the other two men, who had pleaded guilty when they were first interviewed by the police, had since been altered in favour of the accused. Both now said he was not present when the school was set on fire.
