NEW ZEALAND UNION
A meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last evening. Mr. S. S. Dean presided, and there were also pre-; sent Messrs. E. Wylie, E, Little, J. Howe, and G. 'W. Slade.
The report of the Boundary Commission was plaoed before the meeting. Of the nearer districts the commission recommended :— Hawkes Bay: The counr ties of Wairoa, Hawkes Bay, Waipawa, Waipuklirau, Patangata, Dannevirke, Weber, and Woodville, excluding the borough of Woodville and Woodville and Mangaatua ridings. Wanganui: Raugitikei, Kiwitea, Wanganui, and southern parts of Pat.ea and Waitptara counties. Manawatu; Pohangina, Oroua, Ka.iranga, Woodville borough and riding, and Manawatu, excluding Foxton. Horowhenua; Horowhenua county Foxton borough, and tlrnt part'of Hutt' north .of Pukerua station. Bush: The counties of Pahiatua, Akitio, and Eketahuna. Wairarapa: The counties of Mauriceyille, Castlepoint, Masterton, Wairarapa South, and Featherston. Wellington: Counties of Makara, and Hutt south of a line from Pukerua station to the northeast corner of the county. The commission recommended dividing the North Island as follows:. Auckland, South Auckland, Hawkes. Bay J Taranalu, and Wellington. .
The chairman said the question largely resolved itself into one concerning representation. ■ ■
: It was: decided to recommend to the annual meeting the South Island proposals as to representation. Notice of motion was given by Mr. Slade that Rule 38 be deleted, and that unions affiliated pay £5 5s annual subscription and 2s for each team playing under their jurisdiction,' exclusive of teams from primary schools. The question of wing-forwards was mentioned, and it was decided to bring the matter up at the general business stage of the annual meeting. It was decided to agree to a suggestion from Sydney that the dates for the :Maori matches be 16th, '23rd, and 25th June.
