THROWN CLEAR AND NOT INJURED.

CHRISTCHURCH, 4th April.
A motor-cycle and side-car, driven by R.. Adama, into the ChristchurchLyttelton train at a level crossing near Woolston this afternoon. The train, was gathering speed when the motorist was noticed approaching the crossing.
As he kept on, the locomotive engineer applied the brakes. The motorcycle tailed to get clear, and was thrown violently against a fence. Adams fell twenty feet ahead of the engine, but fortunately he did not land on the track. He was not hurt, but his. cycle and side-car were damaged.
