ACRON WINS CHAMPION STAKES.

CHRISTCHURCH, 4th April. The Metropolitan Trotting Club's Autumn Meeting concluded in fine weather.

The tqtalisator .investments were £51,----547 10s, making £102,335 for th» meeting, as against £108,612 10s last year. Results :—'

Halswell Handicap, of 400 soys; one mile and a quarter.—Calmness, scr (J. M'Lennan), 1; Fernmoor, scr, 2; Eulius, scr, 3. Also started: Vera's Doll, Waipero, Ratana, La Fayette, Red Heather. Florrie Audubon, Colchester, Final Leave scr, R«y De Oro 12yds behind, Fashion Queen 24, Peter King 36, Flora Golding 36, Childe Pointer 72. Won by half a length, with a similar distance between second and third. Time, 2min 52 l-ssec.

Champion Stakes, of 750 soys; one mile and five furlongs.—Acron (J. J. Kennerley), 1; Logan Chief, 2; Event, 3. Also started: Bonny Logan, Guy Fawkes. Won by a neck, with ten lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 34sec.

April Handicap, of 150 soys; one mile. —Prince Burlington, 24yds behind (F. Douglas), 1; Linden, 36yds behind. 2; Prospect, 24yds behind, 3.
