THE ORIENTAL CLUB

About 100 players and supporters of the Oriental Football Club were present at the annual meeting, held Jast evening. Mr. Ben Finucane presided. The annual report showed that the finances of the club are in a sound position, there being a credit balance of £68 10s 4d, notwithstanding the heavy oxponsee. The corumittee hopes that with another successful season it will be able to pay off the ' mortgage of £100 still held on the gymnasium. The membership of the club is good, comprising 130 playing members, and last season eight teams competed' in tho various grade competitions. ■ Tho transfer of Mr. C. C4aif, one of the most valuable members, who has taken up his residence on the West Coast, is regretted, but, however, the club congratulates Mr. Gair on his appointment, and hopes k> pee his name shining in Rugby circles in that part of the island. The report further states that the thanks of the club arc due to the following who unselfishly ga.ve tboir services and time as coaches to tho various grade teams during the season:—Mr. F. PvobertiS, Mr. E. J. M'Brajth, Mr. W. Sullivan, Mr. W. F. Hornig,. Mr. A. Nancarrow, and Mr. G. T. Harris. It is hoped that they will carry on this year.
