LONDON TALLW PRICES ADVANCE
The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, has received the following- advice from its London office, under date 7th March:— "There is a good demand, and prices have advanced Is per cwt. on last quotations." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house, under date 7th March:—"Tallow: We quote present spot values for the following descriptions:—Fine mutton, 44s 9d per cwt; good beef, 425; mixed, 395. Market firm." Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Cliristchurch, report exports of:tallow from New Zealand for February 3029 tons; for eight months ended 25th February, 15,015 tons, as compared with 16,327 tons for the corresponding period of last, year. Sales of tallow in New Zealand during February last. 80 tons.
