In the Police Court, Henry William Taylor was charged with, between 10th March, 1916, and 9th January, 1923, with stealing £4406 0s 4d, the property of a local firm; also, with stealing, on stealing £4406 0s 4d, the property of the same firm. The accused pleaded guilty.

' Detective-Sergeant Quirke stated that the accused had been managing a department of the firm from 1915 till early this year. During that timo he had drawn cheques in the name of the firm, and converted the money to his own use. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
