(AB6TRAUAN - NBTT ZEALANB CABLI ASSOCIATION.) VANCOUVER, 2nd March. The death is recorded of the Hon. Joseph Martin, ex-Prime Minister of British Columbia, and ex-mpmber of the Winnipeg, Ottawa, and Victoria Legislatures ; also of the House of Commons. The cause of death was diabetes,
[The late Hon. Joseph. Martin was born at Ontario, Canada, in 1852, and was educated at Canadian and Michigan public schools and 'loronto University. He was a barrister by profession and a Canadian K.C. The late Mr. Martin was a member of the Legislature of Manitoba, from 1882 to 1892, and AttorneyGeneral and Minister of Education from 1888 to 1891. Subsequently, Mr. Martin was a member of the Dominion House of Commons for Winnipeg, member of the Legislature, British Columbia, and also its Prime Minister. In 1909 he was elected, in the Liberal interests, for tho East St. Pancras seat in the British House of "ommons. Deceased owned and edited daily newspapers in Vancouver for some time.]
