HUTT-INSTITUTE.
After losing three wickets for 37 on the first day, Institute reopened against Hutt at Lower Hutt on Saturday, and produced the surprise of the second round by securing a three-point win. H. Prince, who had scored 1 when the stumps were drawn on the previous Saturday, carried his bat through the innings for a very fine 91. He played a nice all-round game, and with other assistance, principally from Watson (35) and Massey (25), carried the score to 225, the last wicket costing Hutt 75. Hutt went to the wickets again and compiled 131, the 62 of H. Watson being the best effort. The last three wickets fell for nothing.
