GRKYMOUTH, 26th February. The Arbitration Court to-day granted the hotel workers' application for an award based on the. metropolitan award, wages to be retrospective to Ist January, and conditions to take eS'ect from 12th March.
The sawmillers applied for a variation of the award, allowing the retention of live days' wages instead of three days. As the application had only been hied on Siitiirdiiv, it was dismissed.
After evidence had been heard, the. application of the Timber Workers' Union for exemption from the general order in regard to the bonus was dismiss-eel.
The dispute between tile Westlaud engine drivers and colliery proprietors was lieai'd, ami tlie decision was reserved.
