The rifle meeting was continued at Papawai. Shortly after tha commencement of the Hawkes Bay match, GOO yards, a steady wind rose, blowing straight across the range, consequently the card showed a big falling off. Misses became frequent, and even good scorers with a big lead fell back amazingly. Not a possible was registered throughout the meeting, the wind allowance being equal to 15 feet.
