The manager of the Petone branch of Messrs. George and George, Mr. Kirkwood, was unfortunate enough during the week to lose one of his fingers. He was.chocking a motor lorry, on the Korokoro hill when his hand became caught between the wheel and the chock. One' ■finger had to be amputated and another it badly injured. ft
