HARBOUR BOARD EMPLOYEES.
The second annual picnic of the Wellington Harbour Board employees was held at Day's Bay yesterday, under ideal weather conditions. About 900 people left town by the Cobai; at 10 a.m., and; on arrival at the bay sports of all kinds, swimming races, and tennis, were indulged in. A baby show drew several entries. The prizes, which-were numerous, included handsome trophies Among those present were: Mr. J. G. Harkness, chairman of the Harbour Board ; I\Jr. Barnett, assistant secretary; Mr. A. V.Hale Monro, wharfinger; and Mr. Campbell, accountant. An efficiem band added to the pleasure of the outing. Mr. Gborge Lambert, hon. secretary of the picnic committee, and his colleagues, had every reason to be satisfied with the isuccess that attended their efforts. The holiday-makers left the baj by the Cobar at 5.30 p.m.
