SHORTT'S THEATRE.
"Wfcile Satan Sleeps," a very strong 1 story, is being shown at Shortt's Theatre, and gives Jack Holt, the noted screen star, one of the most highly-dramatic roles. Peter B. Kyne's article in the '" Saturday Evening: Post" is the basis on which tie drama is founded. *It contains both comedy and pathos in profusion. A: prologue, "Belgium Smiles Again," a comedy, "Torchy and Orange Blossoms," and a Gazette complete an excellent programme. "IF YOU BELIEVE IT, ITS SO." That crime is largely the product of environment is powerfully demonstrated in Thomas Meighan's latest Paramount picture, "If You Believe It, It's So," which, will be shown at Shortt's Theatre on Friday. The story is ,woven around a young man who, while he remains in the city, is a criminal, but when circnm-i stances take him out into the open spaces of the country he becomes a changed man, and soon love and peace transform him. In this play Mr. Meighan ia said to giv& one of the most masterful performances .of his career. He is supported by a cast of talented players, including such favourites as Theodore Roberts, Charles Ogle, Pauline Stark, and Joseph J. Dowling. In a second ttar picture, Justine' Johnstone (of Follies' beauty fame) takes the leading role in "A Heart no Let," in ■which she tekts the part of a young woman and a decrepit old one.
