SYDNEY, 30th January. Victoria, in the second innings, scored 179 runs (Keating made 34, Willis 23, and Hartkopf 18). Scott secured three wickets for 56 and Mailey five for 73.
New South Wales won by an innings and 28 runs.
The weather was fine and the wicket good. The batsmen played cautiously,, but the bowling of Mailey and Scott was irresistible, and the match ended 75 minutes after the resumption of play.
