HUTT VALLEY POWER
TO-DAY'S LOAN POLL.
The poll is being taken, to-day on the Hntfc Valley Electric Power Board's proposal to raise a loan for the reticulation of the district for electric light and power, utilising the Mangahao supply. The district includes the Hutt and Petone. boroughs and Eastbourne, as well as certain outlying suburban areas. A list of the polling places, twenty-one yi number, appeared in last evening's ''Post." Although the proposals have apparently been generally well received, .it must be borne in mind, as stated by the chairman of the board, that'a three-fifths majority is required to carry the, loan proposal. Full explanations of the scheme hay© been given at various centres in the .distinct by the chairman of the board and the board's engineers.
Mr. F. Clewer will sell household furaitore and effects at the Central Auction Rooms, 53, Cuba street, on Thursday at 2 p.m.
