LEFT BANK OF RHINE
RAILWAY STRIKE SPREADING.
(Received 31st January, 9.30 a.m.)
PARIS, 30th January. A general strike of railwaymen has commenced in the old occupied territory on the left bank of the Rhine. General Degoutte has substituted French railwaymen at certain selected stations considered essential to the re-establishment of communication with. France and Belgium. It is hoped that the subordinate German personnel will collaborate with the French, thus obviating the introduction of further Frenchmen.
