QUITE IMPOSSIBLE
TREATY IN ITS PRESENT FORM.

LAUSANNE, 30th January. Interviewed 'after perusing"the draft of the Treaty, a leading Turkish delegate expressed surprise at" some of the contents, especially the financial clause?, in which he said new elements, not discussed by the Commission, had been introduced. It appeared "that the Allies intended to open the way to bargaining.The Draft Treaty would be communicated to Angora, but its acceptance in its present form was regarded as quite impossible.
