THRIFT FROM AMERICA.

WASHINGTON, 29th January. Senator M'Cormick, an influential Administratiqn Senator, recently returned from an investigation of Europe, in a Speech in the Senate, said that an economic conference would not restore Europe or the world to normality. He declared: "Europe must learn the same frugality and thrift that characterises American national finance."
