LABOUR ATTITUDE
RUHR COCKPIT OF CAPITAL.
(Received 30th January, 10 a.m.)
AMSTERDAM, 29th January.
The executive of the International Federation of Trade Unionß has passed a resolution that the Ruhr occupation, effected under the pretext of ensuring the reconstruction of the devastated areas, really delays and makes the reconstruction more difficult.
The resolution declares that the 'occupation is merely a phase of the struggle between the French and German magnates to gain permanent , possession of coal and iron deposits. /
The executive decided to bring pressure to bear on the respective Governments to accept the mediation of the League of Nations and to arrange a demonstration in favour of that course in various countries.
