SLOW MEAT MARKET.
The Department of Agriculture has received advice from the High Commissioner respecting the prices of meat, thai a poor trade has beeu experienced during the past week and a clearance of market has been difficult. New Zealand mutton and lamb are. not quoted, and Australian aud Ri\;er Plate quoted at Sid to lid for lamb, according to quality, i'ew Zealand frozea beef i 3 quoted at- 4Jd per lb for fores, and -ijd for hinds, while chilled beef ranges f;om -Hd to 5d for fores, and from aid to Cd for hinds.
