The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association wrote that its council was willing to allow the Americans to ap-' pear at Wellington on 17th February,, the Wellington centre to take all the profits of the meeting, and to bear the loss, if any.' The centre was requested to pay the board of the Americans for four days. The offer was made on condition that the centre should waive its claim to any profits from ths New Zealand championship meeting, which will be held at Wellington on 24th February, and which will be under the centre's control.

Mr. A. C. Kittb- said that he thought the association's proposal was a very good one, and on the motion pf Mr. J. 0. Sullivan it was decided to fall in with the idea.

A letter was received from the 'Defence Department stating that three items— tabloid athletics, march, past, and' tug-o'-war—had not been completed when the area tournament was held owing to lack of space. It was desired to hold these items in conjunction with the athletic association, if possible, at the centre's next meeting. Applications were received from Arthur Picken, Patrick ,3tubbe" Harrison, and Francis Nesdale for. reinstatement as amateurs. i . ' . Picken stated that he had competed in foot, and cycling .events in the Wairarapa. Harrison had won £13 cash, 'and Nesdale had won £14 cash.

It was decided to reco_mme:w"~^he applications to the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association.

A letter -was received from the Manawatu sub-centre stating that the Wairarapa sports meeting had been postponed to 10th February. As that was the date of the Manawatu meeting with the Americans, the Wellington centre was iisked to see whether the Wairarapa centre would accept some other date.

It was decided that the Wellington centre could take no action in the matter, and it was further resolved to write to the Manawatu sub-centre suggesting that it should consult the Wairarapa centre in the matter.

. Mr. A. C. Kitto was appointed sole selector to pick the team to represent the Wellington centre at jthe New Zealand championships.
