HAWERA, This Day., Early yesterday morning .a fire destroyed the Pihama Dairy Factory, with a considerable quantity of cheese. Arrangements were made for neighbouring factories to handle the milk supplies. The cause of the fire is unknown. The insurances are held in the State Office, but the total amount is not yet available. GREYMOUTH, This Day. About 2 a.m. to-day a fire of unknown origin destroyed-the residence of Robert Allison, Smith street, a twelve-roomed house, bn a 'hill. The brigade saved an adjoining billiard-room. The damage is estimated at £3000. A valuable collection of china was lost. The insurances are : On the contents, £345, in the A.P.A.. £850 in the Eagle and Star; on the building, £720, in the Atlas.
