HUTT VALLEY POWER LOAN
The loan poll which will'be taken on Wednesday on the Hutt Valley Power Board loan is a step towards a commercially important future in which the Hutt-Petcne district will play a considerable part. Already the population of the Power Board's district is increasing at the rate of 800 a year, arid it is the opinion of the experts engaged on the matter that by the time the complete reticulation has been installed, the population, served under the new scheme will be '24,000 people. To tliis fact' must be coupled the important presence of large manufacturing enterprises, especially at Petone. The great increase, in the sale of current arising from- this is an advantage^ which few far-seeing rate-payei-3 will overlook. Viewed from every, aspect, the schema appear* nconomically sound. ' .
