HARDING OPTIMISTIC
WASHINGTON, 26th January. White House, "'Hn a statement, says that President Harding does not consider the present time opportune for the United. States calling a world economic conference. It was\. indicated that President Harding would oppose a, resolution to that effect should Senator-Borah reintroduce it. Nevertheless, it is learned that the United States would willingly participate in such a conference as soon as Europe is ready for it. The statement says that while President Harding has every confidence in the British debt settlement, yet he will call an extra session of Congress, if an agreement is not reached before Ist March.
