LONDON, 28th January". The Ministry of Agriculture advises hop-growers to-limit production for the current year, as the consumption of beer lias been reduced to approximately half that of pre-war times. There are now 27,000 acres under hops, compared with .3,6,000 before the war.' Consequently, if an average crop be produced, thefe will be a considerable surplus over brewers' requirements. It is also estimated that lOff.OOOcwt of the 1922 crop was left on the growers', hands after the breve??' needs had been filled.
