Cheering crowds showered confetti on the Duke of York as he drove through the London streets, and shouted "Bowl of money!" The Duke was puzzled, until it was explained to him that the request for a bowl of money was an ancient Scottish custom intended to extract money from a bridegroom going on his honeymoon. The Duke laughed heartily, but did not respond.
