(»T TELEORAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.} INVERCABGILL, 28th January. ; The first InvercargiU wool sale of the season was held on Saturday. Six thousand five hundred bales were '■ offered. British, colonial, American, and Continental buyers were represented, and there was the keenest, competition for all classes. Values were up. to commandeer prices, and altogether .it was the best auction sale of wool ever held in Southland. The range of values was:—Halfbred, 22d to 24d; medium, 18d to zld; inferior, 16^ to 17^d; three-quarter-bred, super, I7d to 29d; medium, 15d to 16id; inferior, Hd to 15d; medium crossbred, super, 17d to 18J*d<; medium, 13d to. 15|d; inferior, lOd to 12£ d; coarse crossbred, super, lOd to 12d; medium, 10£ dto ll£d; inferior, 9d to 10^d; pieces, halfbred, 16£ dto 20Jrd; crossbred, lOd to 15d; locks, 5d to 5Jd; bellies, halfbred, 12d to 16^d; ciutcfr iagi, W to 7£<L
