AUCKLAND, 27th January.' The Takapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting opened to-day. The weather ■was threatening, but thete was a good attendance. The totalisator returns amounted to £56,334, compared with £69,395 for the first day last year, which was held on a public holiday. Additional results:— Takapuna Cup, of 1300 Hove; one mile and a half.—Glenca-nny, 6.7 (Julian), 1; Stork, 6.9, 2; Loyal Irish,. 8.1, 3. Also started: Boomerday 8.5, Royal Box 8.1, Forest Gold 7.1, r Tinohoro 7.10, Eefinement 7.0, Marble Slab 6.13, Bitholia 6.7, Canowindra 6.7. Won by a length, with two lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 20 2-ssec. Ferry Handicap, of 250 soys; six furlongs.—Sir Burnett, 9.0 (Rearing), i; Florent, 8.4, 2; Rosullug, 8.4, 3.
