Dr. Sherwood- Eddy an American, touring the world, investigating the industrial conditions, in a speech at Calcutta, stated that Indian labour condi-. tions had greatly improved in the last three years. They were npt ideal, but vastly better than in China' and in many respects than' in Japan.
