PARIS, 10th January.
A retrospective Bill, restricting the rights of foreigners to acquire or possess real property in France, which passed the House of Deputies without discussion, and is now before the Senate, has evoked diplomatic protest from several foreign Powers. It abrogates British companies' right under the Treaty of 1862. It is contended that the depreciation of the franc has placed Frenchmen under a disadvantage in competition with foreign nationals.
