BRITAIN'S REASONS
ACCORDING TO COMMUNIST M.P.

LONDON, 10th January. Mr. J. T. W. Newbold. Communist member of the House of Commons for Motherwell, declared that Britain only opposed M. Poincare's plans because she feared the competition of a powerful French coal and iron combine.
[Mr. Newbold is a school teacher by professioa, and is reported to have made a study of the armaments question.]
