MEETING OF THE BOARD. '

A meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board was held yesterday afternoon. Mr. F. Castle- presided, and there were alfeo present:—Messrs. A. R. Hornolow, J. W. M'Ewan, E. Windley, A. J. M'Curdy, J. W. Butler, C H. Chawman, C. M. Luke, J. Glover, Dr. J. * Kennedy Elliott, Rev. H. van Staveren, Dr. W. E. Herbert, and Mrs. Snow.

The medical superintendent .reported that the number of cases admitted to the Hospital during November was 336. The number of operations, performed was 173. The total'number of cases under treatment in the genito-urinary uepartment was 3934, as conipared with 3221 for the same- period last year. The report of the Social Welfare Committee stated that the cases remaining on the books on sth December numbered 111.

Authority was given the medical superintendent : i (a) to .purchase equipment and appliances from the Treiitham Hospital (estimated cost £150) for the physio-therapeutic department; (b) to alter the present massage building by making provision for the addition of an oxamination-room and masseuses' clonkroom; (c) to purchase a motor recordo-gra.-ph for the motor ambulance van (£17); and to appoint Mr. John Worden splint and leather worker at £6 103 per week for a period of six months.
