CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS,

On Saturday, 23rd December, a morning and an afternoon delivery will be made by postmen, and correspondence for delivery by postmen in the city and suburbs will be delivered on application at the Postmen's Branch (entrance upstairs from Featherston street at the Chief Post Office) from 6to 9 p.m. The public delivery counter will be open for delivery'of correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office up to 9 p.m. The posting boxes in city and suburbs will be cleared as usual at midnight oa Sunday, 2-ltli December, Monday, 25th, and Tuesday, 26th. ■■

On Monday, 25th December. (Christmas Day), the Post Office will be closed in all branche3. Mails for despatch by steamers, and by trains for the following places:—Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Eangltikei, Wanganui, and Tarnnaki districts, Auckland, and Auckland district—on Christmas Day will close at midnight on Sunday, 21th December.

On Tuesday, 26th December (Boxing Day), the Post Office will be open in all branches (except the Money Order and Savings Bank) from 9 to 10 a.m Mails for despatch by trains for Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanpanui, and Taranaki districts will close at midnight on Monday, 2oth December, and for Auckland and Auckland district and for despatch by steamers will close at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 26th December.

New Plymouth and Taranaki District, 7.33 a.m. md 11.20 a.m. Hanawatu District, 7.30 a.m. and S p.m.; late fee, 8.15 p.m. Wairarapa District, 3 a.m., fi a.m., and 3 p.m.; late fee, 3.15 p.m. Napier and Hawkes Bay District, 8 a.m., 11.20 a.m., and 3 p.m, daily. Auckland and District, 11.20 a.m. daily; late fee, G.P.O. 11.85 a.m., railway station 12.« p.m. Parcel mails for Auckland and District, 3 p.m. daily. ■ The next despatch for correspondence addressed to United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, and North America, via Vancouver, will close at Wellington on Sunday, 31st December, at midnight, connecting with Niagara at Auckland, closing Tuesday, 2nd Januarj', at 9 a.m.; mail due London '^th February.
