£100 GOLF SHOT
Immediately after winning the Welsh open amateur golf championship, Captain' E. C. Carter won a', remarkable wager, states the "DaiJy Mail." He Was offered odds of £100 to £1 by a woman golfer that he would not put a golf ball into Harlech Castle from the Royal St. Davids course: Tho castle'stands on a rock overlooking the cqr.rse,' and is nearly 200 yards away from the nearest point on the links. Its battlements are nearly 200 ft above the level of the course. . Captain Carter, using . a baffy, failed in his first endeavour, but at his second hit he drove the ball into the castlo grounds. He then repeated his achievement twice, and the fact that the performance had been accomplished was entered in'an historic book and signed by those who witnessed-it. ,
