DEMANDS FOR CROSSBREDS,

There was a, very large attendance and remarkably strong competition for all crossbreds from the American, Continental, and Home trade.' Johnston and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cablegram from their - London agents, under date 22nd November:—" Wool sales opened; keen competition; fine crossbreds advanced 2£ per cent.; medium crossbreds advanced 10 per cent.; coarse crossbreds advanced 7^ per cent.". . : The New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Company, Ltd., report having received the following cable from their London office:—Wool sales opened yesterday, full attendance of buyers. Scoured fine crossbreds 5 per cent, up; scoured medium crossbreds 10 per cent, up; scoured coarse crossbreds 7£, per cent, up; scoured merinos unchanged."

Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co. are to-day in receipt of a cable from their London agents, . dated 22nd November, reading as follows:'—" Salos have opened firm. Large attendance of buyers; brisk competition; all sections operating. Merino, poor selection offered, not sufficient to test the market. Crossbred, greasy comeback, par to 6 per cent, advance; crossbred, greasy fine, par to 5 per cent, advance; crossbred, greasy medium, 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, advance; crossbred, greasy coarse, 7£ per cent, to 10 per cent, advance; crossbred, greasy suitable for America, shows the greatest advance."

The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-op. Association, Ltd., is in receipt of the following cablegram from its London agents Under date 22nd November:—"Wool sales opened to-day (Wednesday) to a large and representative attendance of buyers, including American. .Compared with closing rato of previous sale, fine crossbred advanced 2| per cent., medium crossbred advanced 10 per cent., and coarse crossbred advanced 7£ per cent."
