STRAND THEATRE.
A picture that is at once a powerful revelation of canine instinct * "The Silent Call," which was shown at the head of the new programme at the Strand Theatre to-day. The story is a romance of the West in which the leading character is Strongheart, a remarkI able dog-, half wild and half domesticated, who served in the Red Cross during ' the Great War. The background of the | atory is the Sierra mountain region, which, has been transferred to the screen in all its impressive grandeur. ' > Cleaa, wholesome humour, the keynote of "The Girl in the Taxi," in which Mr. and Mrs. Carter de Haven are the stars, is the supporting picture. The story, centres round the exploits of a young man whoso father has. dubbed him a molly coddle.
